Terms of Service

1. The Service

HookWise is a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux that helps turn long videos into short clips: import, transcription, clipping, editing and export. Video processing runs on your own computer. The website and web dashboard are used for your account, plans, payments and device management.

2. Your account

You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep your password and connected devices secure. You are responsible for all activity on your account. The Service is not meant for children under 13; users under 18 need permission from a parent or guardian.

3. License and device limits

While your plan is active, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on the number of devices your plan allows. One account is for one person or one business; an account may not be shared beyond its device limit. You may not reverse engineer, modify, pirate or bypass the app’s license checks.

4. Trial

Every new account automatically gets a 7-day trial on 1 device with every feature. Exports made during the trial carry a hookwise.app watermark. The trial is available once per account and per computer. When the trial ends, the app locks until you choose a plan.

5. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly. For bank transfer and QRIS payments, we send an invoice before the period ends and the plan renews once it is paid. For card payments through Polar, the subscription renews automatically until you stop it. You can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

6. Lifetime deals and AppSumo

A lifetime deal is paid once and stays valid for as long as HookWise operates, app updates included. "Lifetime" refers to the life of the product, not of the buyer. Licenses bought through AppSumo are also subject to AppSumo’s terms and refund policy, as described on our AppSumo Policy page.

7. Resellers

Owners of a reseller plan may create and resell managed accounts up to their number of seats. Resellers are responsible for their relationship with their own customers, including pricing, billing and first-line support. Managed accounts follow the features and device limit of the reseller plan and remain bound by these terms. We may disable managed accounts that break these terms.

8. Payments, taxes and refunds

Prices are shown in Indonesian rupiah (IDR) or US dollars (USD). Rupiah payments are made by bank transfer or QRIS; dollar payments through Polar, which processes cards on our behalf. Prices may change for future purchases or renewals; a change never applies to a period already paid for.

Completed payments are generally non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. If something went wrong with a payment, such as a double charge, contact us on WhatsApp within 14 days and we will review it. Refunds for AppSumo purchases are handled by AppSumo.

9. Your content and acceptable use

The videos, audio and text you work on remain yours. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you import, including content downloaded from links on other platforms, and for using it in line with the law and those platforms’ terms. You may not use the Service to infringe copyright, spread illegal content or disrupt our systems.

10. Third-party services

Some features rely on third-party services such as Google Gemini (with your own API key), Google Drive, Polar, AppSumo and the video platforms you import links from. Your use of those services is subject to each provider’s terms. Gemini usage is billed to you directly by Google.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The app’s core features keep working offline while the license on your computer is valid. We may change, add or remove features, and we will announce important changes by email or in the app.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, for example through piracy, sharing an account beyond its limit, payment fraud or abuse of the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and ask for your account to be deleted on WhatsApp.

13. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, data loss or lost profits. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months. Keep backups of your projects and important files.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Disputes are first settled by discussion in good faith; failing that, by the competent courts of Indonesia.

15. Changes to these terms and contact
