A face detector runs on your computer
HookWise scans the clip with a face detector on your machine and records where each face sits over time. From those positions it plans the path of the 9:16 crop. The crop only moves once the face drifts out of a band around its current aim, and it eases into place, so a nod or a small lean does not shake the frame.
When another face stays clearly larger than the current one for more than a second, the crop switches to that person. By default it cuts straight to them, the way an editor would. Turn on Glide if you prefer a slide across. With no face in view, the frame holds still for a moment, then drifts back to the center.
