HookWise
AI voice-over

Turn a script into an AI voice-over that lands straight on your timeline

Useful for product videos, B-roll that has no narration yet, or a channel intro. Gemini TTS generates the voice using your own API key.

Needs the Pro or Studio plan and your own Gemini API key

Narration when you cannot record your own

1

8 voices to try

Kore, Puck, Charon, Aoede, Fenrir, Leda, Orus and Zephyr. Generate the same script in a few of them and keep the one that fits your brand.

2

Goes straight into the editor

The voice-over arrives as a clip on the audio track, and music ducking lowers the background music while it plays.

3

Billed by Google

Gemini TTS usage is charged by Google to the API key you create in Google AI Studio.

AI Voice-over

How AI voice-over works in HookWise

Script in, audio clip out

You write the script, pick one of the 8 voices and add a short style instruction, such as "speak in English with an enthusiastic tone". HookWise sends the text to Gemini TTS with your API key, and Gemini returns the audio. The clip lands on the audio track of the editor, ready to trim and move.

The style instruction sets both the language and the delivery, so you can ask for a calm, slow read or a quick, upbeat one. HookWise can also make captions from the script on the timeline. Results are saved in the library, so the same text with the same voice is not generated, or billed, twice.

Where a generated voice fits

AI voice-over fits videos where nobody talks on camera: product demos, B-roll montages, slide recaps, channel intros and tutorials made from screen recordings. It also helps when you want to hear one script in several voices and pick the one that suits your brand.

Keep scripts short and written for the ear. Use one idea per sentence, write numbers the way they should be read, and spell brand names the way you want them pronounced. Generate, listen, then adjust the wording before you switch voices. Music ducking lowers your background music under the narration, and volume keyframes let you shape the mix by hand.

What it needs and costs

Voice-over needs the Pro or Studio plan, your own Gemini API key and an internet connection. Google bills the TTS usage to that key at Google's rates. Which languages and accents sound natural depends on Gemini TTS, so test your own script during the 7-day trial.

The 8 voices are Kore, Puck, Charon, Aoede, Fenrir, Leda, Orus and Zephyr. HookWise does not clone voices. To use your own voice, record it, import the file and clean it with Enhance Speech. Check each platform's rules on labeling AI-generated audio before you post.
