With AI
This mode opens the AI Clipping dialog. Pick one or more source videos and set 1 to 10 reels per source. Each reel comes from one source, so 3 videos at 5 reels per source means you ask for 15 reel suggestions. Target length can be 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 seconds, 3 minutes, or free.
This mode uses Gemini, so it needs the Pro or Studio plan and your own Gemini API key. The transcript is made offline by Whisper, then the transcript text is sent to Gemini and Google bills the tokens to your key. HookWise shows a cost estimate before it runs, and each suggestion comes with a hook, title, reason and a 0 to 100 score.
Manual
Manual mode fits when you already know which moments to cut, from notes taken during the recording or a list from a client. The dialog starts with 2 reel rows, and you can add or remove rows. Each row has a title field and a segment box. A title left empty is filled in for you, such as "Reel 3".
The segment box uses the clipper's quick-entry format, one segment per line. For example Hook 05:00 - 05:05, then Clip 1 01:12 - 01:40. Times can be minutes:seconds or hours:minutes:seconds, and "to" works as the separator too. When the project has several sources, pick the default source at the top and write @2 on lines that come from the second one. This mode runs offline and needs no API key.
Checks and limits
Before creating anything, HookWise checks every row for the time format, @N source numbers that do not exist, segments shorter than 0.3 seconds, and ranges past the end of the video. Errors show on their own row, and no reels are made while any error remains. The button shows how many reels it will create, such as Create 4 reels.
Reel length has no limit. Bulk clip lays out the hook and clips of each reel. Captions, reel templates and other touches are added per reel in the editor. When everything is ready, Export all in the Clips & videos tab renders every reel that has segments.
